It uses the installed templates and settings you choose to present a sophisticated forum solution to your registered users as well as guests. Making a forum public, private, read only and so on - is in your control based on the Joomla and Kunena settings you choose.

Multiple Categories & Topics
You can define the category and sub category structure of your community forum to group themed discussion topics together. Categories act as individual boards of your site, whilst sub categories break out topics to help the user navigate to specific sections of the forum.
This features allows you to build an entire tree of sections and sub sections and assigned moderators, and restrict user access, to any level in that tree.
