Which type of web server should I choose to host my website on, Windows or Linux?

These two web server platforms are very similar. Apart from the different user control panels (cPanel for Linux and Plesk for Windows) for FTP and file managment, it all depends on what are your hosting needs, and what you are most comfortable with.

• Our Linux servers allows for running scripts written in PHP, Perl, Python and other Unix-originated languages. They support MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Our Windows servers allows for running ASP scripts and utilizing .NET and other Microsoft technologies. They support Microsoft SQL Server and Access database.

If your website does not require any scripting support, you should choose Linux hosting because they are more widely used. However, if your website needs more Microsoft database support, you should choose the Windows platform.
